Fee structure 2007

Riders 18 years and older are due $650.00 for the 8 day tour :

This fee covers 3 meals a day for seven days, (Sun 23rd to 29th ). No breakfast or lunch provided on the forward train journey day (Sat 22nd), but an evening meal is provided that night after the cycle to Kennedy School. A pub meal is included at Innot Hot Springs. A lavish farewell curry night is organised on the last evening. The fee also covers facilities charges for the various camping spots.

Discount for previous riders :

A $50 discount will apply to the above fare for riders who have travelled on any year before. (This discount only applies to the $650 fare)

Riders over 13 years and under 18 years :

A fee of $450 applies. This category assumes that the teenager is a full rider, riding with a parent or guardian. If the teen is not fully riding then a support vehicle arrangement is required. See Family riding below.

Charge for forward Sunlander journey to Cardwell on Sat 22nd Sept :

For the majority of people, who will not have the transport of family or friends to get them to Cardwell, an additional charge of $45 will be required to transport riders and bikes to Cardwell. $39 of this fee is train fare, with a very reasonable charge of $6 to pay for bike transport costs. (It is assumed that the bikes of supported riders will not be transported by the tour)

Support persons in separate vehicle :

A person or persons supporting a rider, while not riding themselves, is due $250.00 each.

A couple (or group) alternating their supporting and riding will be considered rider and supporter/s, so long as only one of the group is riding at any one time. This supporter's fee also covers meals and facilities as above.

The lower cost for the support person is an encouragement to family riding, but it also assumes that all luggage and bikes for that party will be transported on the support vehicle for that group.

Family riding :

Family riding is welcomed but has special requirements. Foremost is a support vehicle for the non-riding, or part-riding, members of the participating family (or families if two go together).

Teenagers over 13 and under 18 :

A fee of $450 applies

Children between the ages of 5 and 13 :

$60 if doing no riding. $140 if some riding is anticipated.

At all times families must liaise with organisers who will recommend sections of the route safe for family riding. All children riding must always be accompanied by a guardian.

Children under 5 years :

No charge. It is assumed that children in this age category will not be riding. They will also be part of a family group who have a separate support vehicle.

Fee structure, per day basis :

As part-time riders come and go at various times, a fee related to meals and camping is more applicable than a per-day charge. Breakfast and evening meal, $25 per event. Lunch $20 per event, Overnight camping $20 per event.

Riders from past years joining in during the day :

Any previous riders can just join in at any time along the route during the day. They are also welcome to bring their own lunch if they wish to avoid any costs.
