I wish to participate in the Far North Queensland Wilderness Bicycle Tour, which I understand is a fund raising event and all proceeds will go to the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre (CAFNEC), a non-profit, volunteer based community group. I agree to pay a deposit to secure my place on the Tour (refundable up to 14 days prior to the start of the Tour), and to pay the balance of fees owing by the 1 September 2010.

I understand that other donations or monies raised above the minimum fees and fundraising amount will also be paid to CAFNEC to assist in their core objective of community service, education and the protection and enhancement of the natural environment. (Donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible.)

I understand that the Far North Queensland Wilderness Bicycle Tour is based on a "first pay, first accepted" basis and my application may be rejected if the maximum of 65 riders is already reached. CAFNEC reserves the right at any time to refuse entry to this event, and to change the route without notice.

I understand that in the course of the ride photos may be taken of riders and I give permission for photos of me or my family to be used promotional material for future Far North Queensland Wilderness Bicycle Tour and may be published on the internet.

By registering to join this ride I understand and acknowledge the following.

• I will always wear a helmet and obey all road rules.
• This tour is not a race and I will lend support and encouragement to other riders.
• I will ride in groups when directed, by organizers.
• I will be part of a roster system for meal preparation and washing up (about 2 hours over 8 days).
• There are special luggage requirements for this tour.
• I will need a bike in good condition and with wide tyres and front suspension to complete this ride.
• Half the tour is on dirt roads for which I will need some dirt road experience.
• I will help ensure that all places at which we stay are left clean and tidy.
• I will be cycling through areas with high scenic and wilderness values and will not carelessly or needlessly cause damage to the environment through which we travel.
• Medicare bulk billing facilities may not be available in clinics in the nearest towns should a visit be required.
• I will be prompt in payment of outstanding monies owed before 1 September 2010 and that failure to pay in full by this date could result in my place being cancelled.

I understand that participation in the Far North Queensland Wilderness Bicycle Tour involves riding on public roads used by other traffic, and I am aware of the hazards involved. I also understand that the Far North Queensland Wilderness Bicycle Tour involves riding on dirt roads and tracks that are not regularly maintained and may contain unforeseen and unsigned hazards. I accept that the Far North Queensland Wilderness Bicycle Tour involves some strenuous exercise and requires a general level of fitness and good health.

In my judgement I/ my child/ my family has/have sufficient competence, experience and fitness to participate in this ride.

I hereby release and exempt and indemnify the organisers (the Cairns and Far North Environment Centre) and other persons and organisations involved in the Far North Queensland Wilderness Bicycle Tour, from all actions, proceedings, demands and costs, expense and claims whatsoever made or undertaken by any person arising out of my/ my child's/ my family's participation in the Wilderness Tour.
